blackout mass

blackout mass

A Poem by Cardinal Robin

blackout mass

When goodwill lacks

and slacks with repetition

redundancy rapes morale

and visions darken pale,

it can almost reach

a peak low in a

Blackout Black Mass

Takin’ to the streets

avoid the dark alleys,

the dirty Marys

and crazy Larrys

are harmless

but unpredictable

when unfed

unsustained

on bleakness and hollow

and fewer prospects

Tomorrow…

Curbside is absurd

road or sidewalk

is no matter.

It’s the Block,

Blood you better

Hope you Know

your way in this HOOD!

Follow light

or get a light

for your smoke

but don’t get smoked

and lose what little

Light you Had.

In the locked doors

and the filthy halls

of fear around any

next coroner,

when all the life is gone

from an overripe stone

and no bones

to pick or throw

or catch

my friends

we’re done…

What does it take,

if we have ANY air,

to make Beauty and Love

and not DIRT,

to make CARE

can we DARE

again?

Can a Man or Woman

raise themselves up

and abundant JOY

rise and extend

hands of trust

to each other

like gold neighbors,

and do we need

to say,

“It’s MY

Golden Rule

NOT YOURS!”

thereafter?

Well, that’s my opinion.

Thanks for the light.

See you around Pal…

Robin

This is so dramatic...I love it. I love this part... "In the locked doors and the filthy halls of fear around any next coroner, when all the life is gone from an overripe stone and no bones to pick or throw or catch my friends we're done" as always, there is beauty in your writing. Please continue to amaze me!

Loved it!

just when you appear to be words out of control ,you hit me with what i can relate to,
emotional flow,,here you strode thu society ills ,,taking me on a political odyssey called life's realties,
with a biblical touch of faith ,but woe unto you . not in humanity.. just a question we all ask of ourselves,

over and over and over,,in hopes the answer we discover on discovery channel.. bumfi,,loved it my friend ,this write shows you at your best ,,you are one with your good and bad ,yet u respect each other,,there for u see the world without the mask or blinders,,lol peace wizthom
