Pear Tryst

Pear Tryst

A Poem by Cardinal Robin
"

Beat Jam

"

Pear Tryst

I cannot undersell it

cheaply cannot take it

easy nor fake my way out

nor William Tell it

my archer is unstrung

nonheroic with Maid

“what’s her name”

Now there’s someone

to take a crisp bite out of!

A lip smacking chin drip chomp!

A long hard lip lock romp!

Here we go Apples and Pears!

I got a fresh ripe

Apple in my eye

from eyeing your pear

I swear I never

saw you there

I was just

watching walls

seeing how much

paint would dry

NOKAY

That didn’t fly…

I was writing

constipated

anticipation

exonerating grass

will’s growth

SHE reminded ME

of my heavenly VOW…

And that’s brought me back to NOW! POW!

Red Delicious Spartan Golden Roma!

Fuji Braeburn Granny Smith Gala MAC!

Am I speaking clearly?

Can I hold your

bell bottom dearly

and cuddle your

velvet art cat

sad and lonely

in the rain

Me a dancing Apple Man

“Insane in the membrane!”

Hey pretty lady

don’t cha wanna

come to my pad

and bathe me

Anoint me in years

(and years…)

of unforgettably

common tears

of lover’s suspected

trysts and all

you’ve myst

layer cake

baker your

stories cover

is my icing

stare, over HERE!

The “Apple Pear”

Oh yes “they”

come from Asia,

“Thatta donna

eva gonna

phase ya?”

Jah Jah Jah

I call on you

Come on baby

let go of your guard

my word anaphasia

is hoisting your petard!

This is great! The notion of watching paint dry and being in your own world then POW! there she is - reminds me of a song by Marcy Playground called 'Sex and Candy'. There is a similar story line without the direct fruit references. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Marvelous flow. Oh, to hear you perform - record it and youtube it for us will ya, pretty, pretty, please with sugar and a cherry on top?

How'd I miss this? Fabulous Robin! I love it. :) I agree with Sid about the song, totally reminds me of that. Except maybe a beat faster.
Pears are delicious! My favorite. What a giddy, goofy, sensual write. If all of those things can be together, they were in my mind. Great job!

As I read this I felt the wonderful rhythm of Bob Dylan with all the irony and cutting that implies. Here you have a montage of cheap come ons elevated to art by a deft and skillful hand. You put this together well, sexy without being obvious. This is a great poem.

If the walls are rocking, don't come knocking! Boot-knocking fun!

Hmm, creatively insane! I know only anaphasic, which is related to the stage of mitosis known as anaphasemitosis! It simply say, you are lifting her derriere with your palms. Briliant ending. Loved it. And, all sort of apples.
