Gothic Lover

Gothic Lover

A Poem by Cardinal Robin

Gothic Lover

Warmed into Gothic

I was never born

so I can never die

I am not Alpha not Ever

nor Again and Again

I am an extrapolation

of infinite span well over

The Golden Arches of Omega

In the Halls of Never More

Bliss is the Death of Everness

and in the Soil of Souls

the Vampire Sisters

are Succubine playthings

My blood does not run

it has no freeze nor burn

it feels naught, zero, nada

Brethren in my Coven

know We are not Kings.

We do not create the circles

so our covenants are never broken.

Life is a wooden Token

of what dreams could have been

in a smoke and mirrored hall

stretching bonds less than

arcane Trinity and other

man made notions of Divinity

The foulest most cruel drivel

leads to bonds of shallow

Grave thinking backwards

Dark and Light

Good and Bad

Zeitgeist did you

really evolve at all

through your terrible Two’s?

Pray Thee you and a True friend

get your spirits together then to mend

and there I am with thee

And we shall partake of oysters

and horseradish lemoned lightly

and Eros and Handmaidens

will continue to string along

the forces of Love Unrequiting

For the rest of our eternities…

Unrequiting should read 'Unrequitting' I believe - otherwise a creative work - I like the notion of partaking in oysters and horseradish lemoned lightly - nicely worded as are so many passages in this work. I do not claim to understand the Gothic mentality (perhaps you can fill me in more, Robin) if this is what this is about but as a read this is enjoyable and sustaining. Thank you.

"Life is a wooden Token

Those were definitely my favorite lines.
I think they made me tingle...
*Shivers*

Another piece well-done!

It is so wonderfully cruel! Not very usual... It has nice flow through mix of history, philosophy, religion and fiction.

star fish and coffee maple syrup and jam,
a side of order green eggs and ham,
if only they would set their minds free ,
they would see why you never cease to amaze me in your creations,
with the simplicities of Dr Seuss complexities of Edgar Allen Poe,
in his drug induce state of hellish writes, bargains made with the devil in the dark
you never end with answers just wayward solutions.;
that only offers the reader a clue use your imagination,
while i take you on the ride of your life,

Brethren in my Coven

We do not create the circles
so our covenants are never broken.

I liked how this poem sounds in my ears when I am reading it loud. I totally loved your "the Vampire Sisters

are Succubine playthings / My blood does not run " ---------this was really something. And other many many great lines. Naturally flown, pretty indeed. I adored it. Favorites, even when I am not into succubus and incubus and gothic creatures, I have seen, when I fall in love with words, all goes.

A darkly romantic movement (romantic in the sense of the love of living without the constraints and tags of humanity defined). Well worded. I think this will go into my favorites. Well done.

"Dark and Light
Good and Bad
Zeitgeist did you
really evolve at all
through your terrible Two's..."

The spirit of the times...
stuck.
Not having moved at all,
though having claimed to.

Robin,
once again...
this is a read and re-read,
because my teensy brain
is unable to absorb and comprehend
this all in one read...! Or two or three..

"Pray Thee you and a True friend
get your spirits together then to mend
and there I am with thee"

and then there was light...

I love how you challenge our minds!

Incredible.

Such darkness with piercing allusions and images. You are something else, Robin! Bravo!

I loved this specific image: And we shall partake of oysters

and horseradish lemoned lightly
