sculling me softly
A Poem by
Cardinal Robin
For Dani... a five word game, with a soft texture
sculling me softly
The water doesn't move
as the wave passes through
See the sea birds
sculling softly over yonder?
Fleeing from their
virgin home
they Storm
The Ocean Mirror
They steel their wits
wind in formation
sloop skim the surface
neatly, silently
as though their
wingtips muted sounds
and slowed the Watersands of Time...
With no room to swing a cat
nine tails wag the clouds
to free up their silver
they spill truth and sorrow lining
and a rainbow as promised
And on it goes
in your reflection
in my near perfect
green eyes tonight
And all for love
For your Love

this is very sweet, and reddish. Ocean mirror? aha. tell me about it. No, I never have read any mind guru. Those are charlatans. I live what I write.

It is absolutely beautiful imagery, Robin! I can definitely see Dani in this :) I was keeping in mind her poem while she sat at the bay and meditated, and you see her clearly in your mind while she rests at the bay. Love it, dear friend......

This is... perfect. The flow, the diction... everything. It flows like the ocean you portray, it dips like the birds would dip, it weaves back and forth the way a tide does... it is incredible - a beautiful, exquisite take on a love poem. I'm stunned.

I'm nearly speechless...Dani did a wonderful thing suggesting the softer side, this is absolutely beautiful Robin. Such subtle, almost whimsical thoughts here, and the flow is like liquid. Wonderfully done. :)

I feel like I am always following Dani in comments and she and I seem to have the same reactions to your work. Robin, I have read many of your pieces and I have read many "Love" poems, but this stands as one of the best I have ever had the joy to read. It is sublime.

i'm talking genius level..
and you are one of them. Honestly.
I want to be just like you when I grow up!

IF, I grow up... ;)
Absolutely beautiful my friend! Wow. Thank you!!
Ok, your turn..
