The Shadow of a PeacockA Poem by Forbidden PoetThe peacock of myth and legend Hangs on the branches of life He whispers to spirits of nature And sips in the blood of time Holding mysteries in his crest His feather’s eye tells of the future He glides with majestic grace As he calls to the winds of life
The peacock of lore and dreams Remains on the window sill of creativity He hums to the hearts of desire And inhales the wine of inspiration Embracing secrets in his eyes His fringe tells of the past He becomes a shadow on the tree of memory As he clings to the soul of a poet
