Live through life

Live through life

A Poem by Sarah
"

When did we forget of the battle here?

"

Why do we send people to war

While we sit in class

Not even learning the most basic survival

We are thrown into the world

Like soldiers into war.

Turned, changed with the on coming battle.

Set like pawns, toys in a made up world.

Like the little soldiers boys play with,

We march along in life.

Taking commands,

Following another's path.

When do we break free from the chains,

Binding us to what we want.

Soldiers are sent to war,

Not really knowing what they will see.

An oncoming battle, as the world turns.

Horrors shown in photographs,

Are nothing compared to seeing the wreckage,

Body’s on the side of the street,

With mothers crying out to the heavens,

When did homicide become justified.

When did we send our soldiers,

to get the blood on their hands.

When will the boys we send to war come home?

When will we ever see the same we sent off?

Treated like a boy, instead of a man.

A hero, full of metals and scars.

But did any one ask how they are?

We forget the struggle in life,

The pain, the strife to achieve what we believe is right.

We forget the soldiers battling on our home front,

Only worrying of those over seas,

When did we forget,

That the battle is not among other men,

It is among our selves till the end.

Its all an internal battle turned external.

The real fight is inside,

Why try to learn how to live through life.
