Fears beat the heart

Fears beat the heart

A Poem by Sarah

I never asked for you to care

Never asked for you to be there

But in the end you were here for me

I couldn't formulate why

Why me when in reality

I was so plain, you could of had the world

You just spoke never caring of the whispers

You didn't care who was against us

In the end I wished that

I could of been more like you

Brave, strong against those who didn't agree

But no matter how strong I was

The subconsious always won

My own doubts of who I was

My own fears getting the best of me

When you told me you loved me

I could only shy away.

They whispered you were a fool

I guess they were right

I couldn't hold you back, any longer

Thats why I lied,

Told you to your face

That I couldn't love you.

It was my biggest chirade

It almost killed me

Seeing the pain on your face,

Knowing exactly how you felt.

Im sorry I lied,

In truth I was so in love with you

That I had to let you go.

My fears, my mistakes

Led to our fate.

As I watch from afar,

Your happy with who you are

Your arms wrapped tightly around her

Just like they were me.

Your smile doesn't reach your ears

But I guess we both still have feelings.

All I can say, even though too late

Is I'm sorry,

I do love you..
