Nectarines and Twilight

Nectarines and Twilight

A Poem by foolsrush
"

this is a true story

"
Blue lights flicker
You feel the morning daze
Hell begins to come back to you
In a small and dreadful way

Begging for solace
As the darkness closes in
Is there any hope for peace here?
You wonder as the lights grows dim

Cold bars surround you
Like mosquitoes on a dewy day
Nectarines and twilight seems
A dream you may only dream this way

The howling bitter chill
Of the screams in the room next-door
Tap-tap-tap, the feet thunder near
You slam your head to the floor-

-Over and over to dull the sense
Of what pain must be endured

And as your skin crawls from your back
And your teeth flee from your jaws
Your ears burst in terror of what-
-your eyes cannot compose

A maddening fever called "Why"
Explodes into your brain
You try to see the meaning
But the meaning is the end and the end is vain

This happened to me sometime around middle of '08, woke up there, felt like a thousand years went by before I woke out of it. It was an experience I'll never forget, and which became difficult to write about. Maybe you don't believe in that kind of thing, maybe you do. One thing's for sure though, it happened to me and it could happen to you.

There is some very clever expression here to tell a tale about something quite deep and meaningful though exactly what it's all about....I don't know. This sounds silly as it is almost a condradiction for me to admire something I don't understand, but my appreciation comes from such lines as...'Your ears burst in terror of what you eyes cannot compose'. At the end of the day, that is great expression no matter what...
