Before the Lights Go Out

Before the lights go out, could I tell you a lie?
Perhaps two or more to make the night go by
I could go on and on, we've so much time
And after all the days we've let pass by
Before the lights go out, could I tell you a lie?

The hands of time are moving slow today
It's all that's keeping my mind awake
I thought about when you made me break
And the endless feeling that I was too late
The hands of time are moving slow today

Before the lights go out, can I make you cry?
You know by then that things could be alright
Is happiness nothing but a lie
Someone like you could make me lose my mind
Before the lights go out, can I make you cry?

I'm walking through the darkness, moving fast
I think that I've made up my mind at last
It's taken so long but now I'm finally past
All the little things, to me, which you did pass
I'm walking through the darkness, moving fast

Before the lights go out, can I hear you sigh?
Even if it has to take all night
You know that I was always right
That we only ever had so much time
Before the lights go out, can I hear you sigh?
