For Rebecca

For Rebecca

A Poem by foolsrush
"

an old highschool crush, I wrote this while working as a dishwasher/cook for a chinese place. I was 16.

"

The wealth of your smile is burning
From the forests to the plains
I can see the lonely fountain flowing
You know I just cannot remain

I'm touched by the hopeful memory
Of the miraculous summer wind
You can hear the lonesome forray
Coming through the forest fringe

This dish water is overflowing
Talking to you on my phone
The floor tiles are almost stirring
Whenever we're talking I'm not alone

I think of you and I begin to wonder
What strength you've been giving to me
You cast your spell and I went under
I couldn't stop even to just be

Can't you hear that wind howling
As I step back to my car
I can feel those thunderclouds rolling
But they're burried so deep in my heart

I would forever talk to you
If not for what my words would be
And I'd never want to miss my cue
But they'd become a meaningless ring

Can you feel these pains inside
Is there anything I can do
To help you understand my plight
Oh but I just want to be with you
