Touch the Moon

Touch the Moon

A Poem by foolsrush
"

another oldie

"

Desolate cries from vagabond halls
Take notice of everything and all
Desperate distain filling in a shell
Ever trapped inside this hell

Quiet thoughts of slow decay
Moving mountains out of my way
Instead of climbing I choose to fall
And go with to kneel and crawl

Upon my brow weeps pity and sweat
The pains withing grow strong and set
At my feet rest angels in slumber
But I am forever trapped in hunger

My hands hold justice and a guiltless thief
Whatever should come of torturing me
Although it's only dues we pay
You can hear us crying for our own way

Innocence creeps at the doors of men
Who all have fallen and had to sin
But just as everyone who's gone before
There is guilt for them to restore

Alone I stand with no one near
Could it be your voice I hear?
I would love to hear you speak
And tell me what it is you see

Patience waits at my door
But I just want to see her more
Before she climbs down that hole
To see if she is made of coal

In this world of myths and dreams
There exists a lonely man who needs
To see the sky and touch the moon
Since it will be all gone too soon

Time and love are mysteries to me
You'll never understand or see
The spell which binds my heart to yours
Watch the waterfalls of pity while they roar

Give me eyes and give me ears
I have to close them to see and hear
Loneliness knocks at my window pane
I cannot make it go away
