Get out of my head

Get out of my head

A Poem by allura

My mind wanders in your direction.
I can't stop it, I wish that I could.
Why do I let you leave muddy footprints through my thoughts?

why?
Why is it always you?

I let my mind travel from place to place,
but it always ends up on your sadistic face.
Why do I always picture those cold black eyes?

If only I never loved you,
If only I could stop.
If only I didn't hate you, maybe then I could let you go.

I want to let you go
I need to let you go.

I think so many people can relate to this. There is a Tori Amos song that I adore which reminds me of one of your lines, "Well if my hearts soaking wet, boy your boots can leave a mess".

I love poems that have questions in them the way yours do. It really pulls me in as I think on my past or sometimes current pain. The "if only"s get you every time.

Lovely work. Thank you for sharing.
