traveler's sight

traveler's sight

A Poem by folusho

Moving through the milky way
i sighted a jewel
wrapped in the hands of thick clouds
like the caring hands of a mother
wrapped around her child

I saw the green,i saw the blue
i saw the 'go ahead' signs i knew
from the planet where i'm from
piercing through the wind in the milky way
lost in the tender song, the space sang me

Getting within the jewels range
i saw in a distance, brown spots around it
i took hold of the AWOSCOPE we use in my planet to see things as far as the sun
but i saw these spots filled with mixtures
of past darkness that brought light

Beneath these spots, i found
the cries, the sweats, the spits
the bones,the blood, the tears
which the past has left behind
in the strive against darkness

i saw a world filled with uncelebrated victories
of the past, and untapped resources of the present
a world that fell and arose
falling and rising
will fall and will rise
