Life

Life

A Poem by Flylikethesun

Life.
Well, where do I begin?
Life and fate go hand in hand,
And walk and stumble as you may,
They both have favorites.
They both know you.
And perhaps the scariest thing of all is, you cannot hide from them.
They see you as you are, no facade.
And that makes me wonder: are they hardest on the ones they like the most, or the easiest?

It makes me wonder. Take away my happy facade, take away my everything, and what will you find?
You will find my dismay, dismay at how life choses to show its hatred of me. Or, perhaps, tough love. You will find curiosity, wondering why, wondering what happened to make me need a facade in the first place.

You will find me writing, me reading, me traveling somewhere else with words, thoughts, just anything to escape for a little while.

And you will find me tell myself I'm being overdramatic, I'm fine, I'm a perfectly happy person who maybe is just prone to suggestion, and tends to see depressing stuff online or in books or just in life.

But then. Then, you will also see me enjoying made up places and written down worlds hoping that just maybe, someday, I could create a world like that, a world that could change people's views on life, like so many have done to me.
