MY CrossroadA Poem by flyingdreamsI chose to go the trodden path, Leaving the less travelled by. With a sigh and a wistful glance I went where millions walked before. They told me it was dull and bore, faded pictures, age old notes… Nothing to linger and watch a bit, nothing to give a second thought. Still I didn’t close my eyes, didn’t tune out voices from my ears. So the trodden path told me tales which I wished I never heard Of the flesh that paved it fine, tears and sweat that gave it the shine, Long dried blood coating it brown, every speck of dust brimming with life. Castles, standing high on the sides, spoke of not the might of distant kings, But the hundred thousand lives offered to death in the altar of dreams................... I chose to go the trodden path, leaving the less travelled by! And life, as the poet said, has just refused to be same again!!!!!!!!!!!!
