A Place Unknown

A Place Unknown

A Poem by fluffythoughts

Where the trees are silver white
And darkness steals from light

There is a place,
Without name, without face

A door to the other world
A place only heard of in ancient stories told

Careful where you tread, don’t make a sound
Beasts are hiding, waiting for that twig to snap on the ground
Listening as your heart pounds

The place is entered by a door, just like any old door

The door is guarded by a single rose
A single red flower, that never grows

Eternally wilting but never dies
Magic ensures that this flower survives

Locked in an eternal dance
Living to a different time

Appears in slow motion
A dance with elegant devotion

The flower’s soft glow illuminates the door
Hanging unhinged, but never falls to the floor

Beyond the door is a world left undiscovered
Waiting patiently to be uncovered
