it is an illusion told to us as children ---- Oh, but, Flow, I love magicians! Especially naked ones! OMG, yes.
As the saying goes, my friend, the only constant thing is that change is inevitable. I firmly believe in love, and all of those wonderful delicious feelings that accompany it.
(But then, I still believe in Santa Claus and, hello, as long as you believe, you still get presents from him. I know I still do!) (I don't believe in the Tooth Fairy, however, and I didn't even as a child. Some poor deranged woman coming into my room at night, wearing a pink tutu, to "steal my teeth" and leave money? PFBBTTTTT, that's preposterous and, even as a small child, I knew, without a doubt, that was a lie. Flow, you know me...I would have slept with her! And I haven't, therefore, she doesn't exist!)
Great write, if you do sound a trace bitter, my friend. You need some love! hehehe That's L.O.V.E. Leslie, Olive, Vera, and Ethel! haha
There. I matched your rambling thoughts, thought for thought! hahaha
MUAH!
Aah....the images of the perfect family, the perfect job 9-5 weekends off,the stable loving relationship with your loved ones.......whoever came up with that idea was thinking the same random thoughts you were they just did more than think in the end they put them up on a TV screen and made the rest of us sad that our own lives didn't,couldn't and wouldn't measure up to the image, people like Norman Rockwell,Felicia Rashaad,Bill Cosby,Mike and Carol Brady,The Patridges.....all of them Flim flam artists no better than the three card monte dealers on the corner.......just writing this is bringing up bad memories and a bitter taste in my mouth.....still I think these Ideas are worth writing down and worth keeping
i remember when i was a kid watching 'the brady bunch' or 'family' ... so many of those shows that showed a picture perfect family unit that had problems, but had a mom and a dad to shoulder the burden and guide the family to a happy conclusion by the time the hour was up... i remember looking at the perfect teens in the show... none of them had big butts and none of them had dad's that drank too much.... whether we like it or not we have images in our heads of what perfection is and when we are at our most vulnerable, we pine for what our life never quite measured up to be based on those images...
i identify with your words and am not here to try and pull you out of sadness.... when i am in that place, i find myself trying to console my consolers that i am not that bad off.....
it's cheesy, it's trite, it's cliche... but it's true "this too shall pass" ... be good to you today... know that you are indeed loved and somewhere amidst the images of perfection in our heads and what our life is capable of being is us,,,, doing the best we can.... the blues are just part of it all....
oh, wait this is a review isn't it?? hehe.... you definitely captured a feeling that i have had and will have again.... and it is a vulnerable place to be...

This is really quite good. There are some technical errors, but the analogy of love to Christmas Day and toys was magnificent!
I also really enjoyed the beginning, the way you described the dream that I suppose every child has at one point was well done.
Keep writing, very good work!
