Beautiful Darkness

Beautiful Darkness

A Poem by Blooming Flower

The sounds of chimes echo through the room.

A breeze sent the blinds lightly tapping.

The rustling of the bushes and the songs of birds.

The deep breathing of nearby siblings.

The steady dripping of the nearby faucet.

The rustling of blankets and creaking of beds.

Then the smell of the air,

Sweet with moonlight and dew.

Cool yet warm.

The smell of rain and damp earth.

The sweet scent of decaying leaves.

The darkness of the room and the heaviness of sleep.

The nightlight creating grotesque shapes on the wall

The drawings hanging on the walls barely visible.

The dark corners of the room.

Beautiful darkness, yet mysterious.
