Once again writing to songs. This one was called Inside Me by Cesare Picco and Leonardo Sapere. This prose poem was also written in 2023
The water slapping against rocks. You’re standing on the edge of a cliff. The world around you has slowly been chipping away at you. The conflict inside feels like clashing colors. Red and blue. Sometimes they fit but on days like today, it feels like you’re being torn apart. You sometimes think that the water would fix everything. That falling into the depths would calm the clashing war inside. Only you know it wouldn’t. One of the colors would win. You could lose yourself oh so easily. So you stay on the rocks. Listening to the ocean. You’ll wait until the war calms. If it ever calms. The day you end up with a beautiful purple. That will be the day when hope returns to you and everything feels better. The day where you can say, “I survived the war, I survived the conflict, and now I’m at peace.”
This is a beautiful poem. Prose Poems are unique and you have done this very well. It reads like a poem despite the prose format. The story and message you are conveying is also empowering. Well done.
I am sixteen years old. I love plants and writing prose poems. Most of my writing is inspired by instrumentals. I’m writing a book that I started in 2023-2024. I’ll upload chapters wheneve.. more..
