The apple doesn't fall too far from..

The apple doesn't fall too far from..

A Poem by Writeforlovely

It’s bizarre how when I look at my mother I see myself.

Certain things I have written is a reflection of my mothers touch.

A part of me doesn’t want the similarity;

I crave my own individuality.

I am like no one because there is only one of me,

but that is silly to think when I agree with half of the things

 that she speaks.

It is true that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

People become upset

when they decide to take a bite,

only to realize they made the same mistake.

History doesn’t always repeat it self,

it just goes in a circle spinning a very similar tale.

Our parents...
There genetic code is so deeply ingrained in us. We carry them in us...Just as you are your mother's reflection, I am my father's.

Yes we do, Writeforlovely. Sometimes, I resent being as beautiful and at the same time as ugly as he was. So I try to nurture the beauty and suppress the ugly.

My compliments on such thought provoking poetry with great expressions.

Oh I can relate, fellow apple! These are great words: "it just goes in a circle spinning a very similar tale." Evolution just is so sluggish. Nice thoughts, simple neat work :)

According to Wikipedia ‘Deoxyribonucleic acid’ is a molecule that carries the genetic instructions used in the growth, development, functioning and reproduction of all known living organisms and many viruses. Reflected in your poetic composition an inherit DNA has to count for some of the imagery shared within the text. Good write ….

A similar tale indeed, but everyone's tale is worth telling. Enjoyed reading.

I agree with your thoughts and your logic.

Old age had taught me. I follow my father's steps in many ways. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
