Stable Horse

Stable horse ran away to be with the birds

the birds didn't want this stable horse
they knew he didn't belong
the stable horse wasn't satisfied with the free lands
he wanted to be weightless in the blue tinted skies
he knew he didn't belong, he knew he could never be
The stable horse came back to me, always depressed
I told him, don't be sad beautiful horse
If you were to be with the birds, only a certain amount of time
you would start to complain that birds never have a stable home
and you would then my little stable horse miss your own small stable home
with miles of land
so stay with me and let me comb your hair
afterwards I can ride on you and spread my arms far apart
we can be the bird we always wanted to be
right where we belong, in our stable home, little stable horse

I love the surreal quality of this write. I can relate strongly with the stable horse. Maybe we all have a little shared history with the stable horse that cant quit seem to find its comfort and would rather go an be with the birds.

Beautiful. Never taking for granted the things we have, is better than to be something you are not. We can dream, but still appreciate the love we have.
