In this climate,

In this climate,

A Poem by Floundering About

the sun
eradicates the clouds.
After all who else knew
the sun?
The summer
is quite the PR campaign.
Everyone is drawn out
into the lovely weather.
Children crayon huge
smiley-faced suns,
their yellow rays clumsily
piercing stick figures and houses.
Smiling, their parents lather
them with sunscreen.
The horizon is hazy
with smoke.
It is so nice for so long that
it burns.
