Betrayal

A (scream)poem about being betrayed, about being told to get over it, and having to deal with heartbreak all on your own.

Your lips

Were always so pink and shiny,

Your eyes

Were big and innocent,

And as the first girl I'd ever fallen in love with, I truly believed that

I was in on all of your secrets and memories;

Good and bad,

And I spent more time learning things about you

Than things about myself and my education, 

19 hours away from you

You were it

You were the one with the plans and the agreements

And the fights were branded into your skull,

My words scratching at your throat,

Ones I will always want to apologize for

I STAYED UP WITH YOU NIGHT AFTER NIGHT, MEMORIZING THE WAY YOU LOOKED RIGHT AFTER YOU'D FALLEN APART RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, HOW YOUR EYES GOT WET AND YOUR CHEEKS FLUSHED THE ROYALIST RED, BUT YOU'D LOOK AT ME AND YOUR WHOLE FACE GLOWED, LIKE I WAS YOUR WHOLE WORLD

BUT I WASN'T I WASN'T S**T FOR YOU AND I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOUR FOR THAT, YOU'RE A SICK HUMAN BEING WITH A PAST I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO FORGET ESPECIALLY BECAUSE NOW I AM PART OF IT, YOU BETRAYED ME AND YOU LAUGHED WITH YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT HOW FOOLISH I WAS FOR YOU, AND I SAID I WAS OVER IT, I'VE BRAGGED TO EVERY FRIEND THAT I HAVE THAT YOU WERE NOTHING TO ME AND THAT I WAS FINE BUT NOW IT IS MONTHS LATER AND I AM FALLING APART, SUDDENLY YOUR NAME IS SO POPULAR AND EVERY DOOR THAT OPENS HAS YOUR FACE BEHIND IT AND I'M FALLING APART YOU B*****D YOU DESTROYED ME AND IT'S GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE I REGRET ALL OF THOSE PROJECTS, ALL OF THE TIME I PUT INK TO MY WRISTS IN HOPES THAT YOUR INITIALS WOULD MAKE MY DAY BRIGHTER WHEN IT FACT ALL THEY DID WAS MAKE MY FUTURE DARKER, I COULD RAMBLE ALL DAY ABOUT HOW YOU NEVER DESERVED A BEAUTIFUL GIRL LIKE ME BUT I WANT YOU TO TAKE THIS PROMISE TO THE F*****G GRAVE: I'LL NEVER BELIEVE IT.
