I saw you bury
pieces of your soul
in the strange roads
you took to your home
there was a part of you
in the flowers you chose to sniff
and another part in the
flowers you adored from a distance
bits of you lay
in the amount of tea
you left undrunk every evening
in the way your hair
played with the winds on a lazy day
in the way you whispered
kind words to yourself
when nobody was watching
and I couldn't help but discover you
piece by piece
it was like
following hyperlinks
all the way to your heart
Funny how you can sneak such emotion in your words when the work is so simple. This is one of the best poems I've read in a long time. You were able to say a lot by saying very little. You were able to be full of powerful imagery while still being indirect. I'll be rereading this poem for some time.

That's so kind of you! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Thank you so very much! :)
I don't wanna feel sad in front of my favourite coffee cup (if I had one). This is like a lover whom I don't know, but knows me and feels me but can't reach out to comfort me.
"it was like following hyperlinks all the way to your heart"
fav. line, kinda represents how it was weird not knowing you were already loving the other person.

Thank you again, Gabby! Really appreciate your comments :)
That's so beautiful...
It so subtle and warm giving a fuzzy feeling to the heart.
Like laying your hands up in the air waiting to let that cold air touch your arms. sinking that feeling inside!
Ohhhh so beautiful

Haha that's such a sweet review! Thank you, Pragati :)
There's something missing in the last line that renders it a tad anticlimactic, and I can't pinpoint it yet, but apart from that, this is divine writing. Stanza 3 is poetry in freaking motion, I had to stop for a breath at the end of it. Well done!! Much enjoyed

I kind of agree with you, emi, on the end being a little anticlimactic. I'll tweak around a bit :)read moreI kind of agree with you, emi, on the end being a little anticlimactic. I'll tweak around a bit :)

I'm happy it resonated with you :D
Thank you very much, Abhishek! You are so appreciated.
This is such brilliant writing, it takes away all my words. Your popping observations drawn from real life are so unexpected, at first the reader wonders what it means, then immediately after that, flooded with a vivid reel of possibilities for how this story is playing out. You pick an everyday detail but state these things in ways that make it feel like a brilliant, incredible connection you're making to a deeper point taken from life. Here's hoping your Easter weekend is enjoyable (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you so much for your kindness and time. Means a lot!
First of all, if you don't mind me saying but "DAMN! That was good." That was really beautiful way to journey a simple short poem that felt like a story written just for you. The ending is what closed it off perfectly, as you began so smoothly.
