lost love

lost love

A Poem by floira
"

we all face breakups. But sometimes, we countenance much greater tragedies........

"

When he met me he was a little weird

He would barely talk and never call

After some days, his conversations became longer.

He would suggest places, to go with my friends

But whenever i invited him, his answer was 'no'

After some weeks, he came closer.

He would go out for ice-creams

And i would teach him how to bake

He would take on walks by the stream

And criticize my cakes.

After a month, his smile grew wider.

A dinner, under the moon

He would stop his video games to call

Invite me to his place

He would bring me fresh roses

And one final day,

He got on his knee

And presented to me

A beautiful tiffany ring

Choking soft sobs he asked

"will you marry me?"

I controlled my tears

And told him i couldn't be more than a friend

Cause like the most, i didn't have

The gift of life for long.

Hearing about my cancer,

He stood up and left

The ring on the ground

And his love in my heart.

To this day, i remember his voice

I bless the day we met

But i'll never meet him again

As today is my last day in life
