Understanding.................

this is a poem about growing up and facing the horrors which is life

I used to be

So carefree

Doing whatever

And whenever.

Never once had I

Sat down and thought

About the future.

But now I understand

That being grown

Responsibilities on my shoulders

And ache in my brow

Now I understand

That I am expected

To do the unexpected  

To leave leisure

And be my own brand.

Now I understand

That my fun is over

My career in face

My future at hand.

Now I understand

My life is designed

Where nothing goes

According to plan
