Broken

written when my fun ended and reality set in

Rage, desolation, pain, fear,

tear my skin open and seep out

spewing forth like shattered glass

attacking anyone in its path.

Misery swallows me whole and

spits me out in broken pieces.

Desperate for unconditional love,

for warmth and light and hope.

Doubts sneak past my barriers,

insecurities bubble over like a volcano

crushing my spirit and leaving me broken
