IT’S YOUR FAULT I’M BREAKING

IT’S YOUR FAULT I’M BREAKING

A Poem by flickering candle

the darling,       short     connection we had

was something i can't forget and

now

you are so far away                                                 the miles                                          between us ache at my heart

but i couldn't want you anyway

we were from seperate worlds and for

one

brief

moment      they collided and

it was thrilling and sweet it felt so right

but i couldn't want you anyway

you made a commitment to your lover and your mistress -alcohol and weed

and

i had watched them           seduce and eat my father alive until

he was gone and i

pounded at his chest -the door to his heart

begging him to answer         or at least be there inside              but he was numb from]

the whispers of his mistress

and his lover

and besides

i couldnt want you anyway

your world was more glamourous

than anything i'd ever seen                     and if i entered it                i know i would never go back

in your world,

my worth was constantly measured on scales and it goes

without saying

i didnt measure up

but i couldnt want you anyways

becuase you've gone so                             far away

i'm not sure you wanted me anyway
