It hides in
the majestic morn yellow,
Across sunlit flashes of your sweet face,
In musical portraits of the cello,
Merry atop white clouds in heaven’s grace.
Perhaps it
sleeps in fields over yonder,
Hiding amongst cherubs of meadows gold,
Beautifying the air as it wanders,
Exhaled by the flowers as they unfold.
It swims with
rainbow fish in mountain streams,
Bathing in the warmth of sun’s lucid smile,
Betwixt the allures of my joyous dreams,
In the grains of sand of faraway isle.
It flees stranger’s
grasp by soaring away,
Nestled softly in the winds of the south,
Flourishing the blossoms of a new day,
Scintillating across your luscious mouth.
I may have
found the treasure that I seek,
Hiding underneath the sunrise born skies,
Amidst the rose blush of an angel’s cheek,
Colour of love is glowing in your eyes.
Or Ivan, if I may, I won't go into great detail surrounding this review since I rarely review anything that I have judged or going to judge in my contest. I had my significant other pick out a couple of poems she was interested in reading and I was going to come in behind her and read/review. That's when I realized I had read this once. I would have not reviewed and moved on but that would have been rude.
Now that the useless information you didnt want to know is out of the way, I can see why it won Best Imagery. The words here are magnetic, drawing you in to the poem itself. It is quite beautiful. This is one of those special poems that you know everyone needs to read atleast once. Great Job.
