APHRODITE'S FLOWERS

APHRODITE'S FLOWERS

A Poem by FlawedByDesign

APHRODITE’S FLOWERS

You give life
to everything around you.
My words blossom
before I put them on paper.
A rainbow of blooms
beneath a lover’s moon,
Every one with its own unique flair,
Beautifying the garden
of their mistress,
Embodying grace beyond compare,
Aphrodite reborn, I shyly obsess.

I like where this poem is going, although I think it may need some re-working at some stage.

In terms of love poetry you should read e.e. cummings and Anne Michaels. My opinion about love poetry is that it can still be deep and emotional...without using those common everyday cliches we hear every damn Valentine's Day.

Still an admirable attempt ;)
