DARLING SONNET
I wait for time still, my
heart on a string,
Blink of eye or eternity well spent,
'Tis not a nightingale that I hear sing,
But romance of sighs 'er since our eyes met.
This is where I want to be, at
arm's length,
Close to the one my heart now petals for,
Thy love pure, gentle sigh to every breath,
Cupid's pawn - I will love you ever more.
Let time go on, sent forth on
winds of morrow,
We shall remain here, let our love unfold,
Wait for cherubs their blessings to bestow,
Crowning horizons a bittersweet gold.
I see the skies that sparkle
stars of late,
We always knew, 'twas a matter of fate.
