The Watcher

The Watcher

A Poem by EnlighteningStar
"

Mother Nature's Lament

"
Close your eyes. What do you see?
I see stars, i see worlds being born.
I see plants growing, and a big tree.
I see this world, it can't be thorn.

What is this? A new invention?
Mother has put humans on the Earth.
What are they doing? What is their intention?
They have been so active since their birth.

They build houses, they build weapons.
While nature is still growing strong.
They teach war, horrible lessons.
What has mother done wrong?

The other animals, they are so kind.
The humans are killing each other.
The animals kill to survive, unlike mankind.
What is your plan, earth mother?

Nature is always blessing the land.
The leaders battle for supremacy.
The animals, together they band.
The humans spit on mother's legacy.

I am but a humble watcher.
The humans, they always run.
They see me as a vile stalker.
I can't fight, for that i am not the one.

They are always hiding away.
I am only trying to help, can't they see?
Unfortunately it has come the day.
They are coming to cut down the tree.

It falls down, the humans cheer.
Their victory is short lived.
Mother has come, the end is near.
This planet is soon to be revived.

Open your eyes. What do you see?
A clean world, free of parasites.
And look, there is the tree!
To the animals of the world, it is paradise.
