That January Day

That January Day

A Poem by Patrick L. Fannin
"

accounts the events of January 21st 2009, from the eyes of a man in 2007

"

Cheers roar from the street
The Greatest thing in nearly a decade
We can't believe it
The horror is finally over

It seemed just like yesterday
when our nation was stolen
But 9 years have passed
Thousands lost along the way

But the future holds bright
Because there is nowhere but up
Tomorrow our country is redeemed
We regain our pride, our conscience, our freedom

The respect lost, will be regained
The freedoms lost, will be restored
Our country is finally heading north
Oh I can't wait for that January day
