Sugar Coil

Sugar Coil

A Poem by Kadie Tee
"

Shake off that sugar coil, baby.

"

So the walls is bleedin'

Knick knacks and rows and stacks

Of Caesar columns and bank statement ploys;

Comin down the line like

Awful hairspray alcohol fires

Of swingset, trampoline play.

Make the hairs sticky

With Cracker Jack wax paper;

Make the tongue silky

With sinister, molester,

Pretender, sweet dark chocolate

Offender.

Get along with ghosts.

Elbow macaroni necklace,

Cottonball snowman;

Eat the glue,

Go home on the bus;

Get grounded, love.

Get deep in the cotton candy soil,

And shake off that sugar coil.

Wow, childhood craziness, and fun, all packed into one neat, sticky sweet little package. This is excellent!

Remember when we could gorge ourselves on so much sugar that it made us so crazy we'd start seeing things that weren't there? Or was that just me? I mean it was pro... HEY! Who brought that pink elephant in here? What's with the giant knacky-knicky lookin'... ooh, brain freeze.

Thanks for the memories and congratulations on the win in the "Go Nutz" contest!

To me it seemed to be about sugar/candy addiction. It was loads-o-fun to read, good luck in the voting!
