The Missing Ink

The Missing Ink

A Chapter by flaneur
"

I'm long overdue for another tattoo.

"

The evolution of my tattoo design.

Think before you ink,
an often heard critique.
People feel a need to question -
they don't understand my obsession
is more than just skin deep.

Or realize how much time I invest,
to ensure each tattoo is the best
version of what I want displayed.
A rather small price to pay...
since Winona winos are forever.

When style, shape, and size are right,
my artist cleans and preps the site.
Then purple stencil is aligned!
Pain is the last thing on my mind,
as my design and I entwine.

I love your rhyme scheme! It's very bouncy and flows extremly smooth. Personally, as long as the tatoo isn't in some ridiculous place, like right on your hand where a professional can see it, I'm all for self expression.

Personally, I find this EXCELLENT...love the reference to Johnny Depp's tattoo....adding the images were a plus.....but, of course, I am biased in my review, as I am a tattooist....but as a tattooist and member of this online network, I will admit that this is one well-crafted piece....GREAT STUFF!

I have no opinion on tatoos one way or the other, but this poem was well written and lets one somewhat understand the need for it. Great work.
