God put a smile upon my face

God put a smile upon my face

A Poem by Kitty
"

I love rain, but the wind is something to admire as well.

"

It moves everything, it stirs everything

And yet I cannot see it with my human eyes.

It gently sways the branches back and forth’

And then like an earthquake, it powerfully shakes every leaf

every shrub, every cable on a pole in the streets.

The wind doesn’t destroy, it just stirs, and it lets me know He’s there

And still I cannot see it with my human eyes,

But he is there,

Proving his power and magnificence with every drop of rain

And every lighting strike.

It’s more than the wind, its more than just nature

It is God.

I feel it brushing my shoulders, hair and face

Letting me know He’s here

All around me

All around the trees

And the shrubs

Through rain or shine, through heat and cold.

He is God.

Fierce and powerful, strong and yet gentle with the trees.

And every once in a while ill hear a rumble

and someone will say,

“Gods bowling again”.

Some take this for granted,

others try to hide from the rain and wind,

as if God is looking for  someone to strike down.

As if they hid under an umbrella God couldn’t find them.

As if he were a monster under a bed, and hiding under a blanket

Will save them.

Twisting beauty and converting it into a nightmare.

And just like that

He stops.

No wind, no rain, no movement of trees or shrubs

not even the feeling of his hand in the form of wind brushing my hair and face.

I REALLY love this poem. I hope to have been able to paint the same picture i saw when i wrote this. i was looking out my window and it was raining so hard, and it was blowing so hard, and it looked like a hurricane was coming for a moment ( i live in Florida) and i felt inspired. I love to write poetry but this poem made me smile as i wrote it. This is me, at my best. my best may not be the best for someone else but this poem is a poem that made me glad to be alive at the very moment i was writing it...enjoy. or not.

Amen! I liked this. The meaning where you are saying we believe in the unseen which shows our faith in God. I also see through the words of how God doesn't fellowship with us if we do not believe. I also see your gratefulness of the small things in life many take for granted. You see the big picture and you paint this very well with your words in this poem. I enjoyed this.

I see that all of your poems are about God....your devotion is very strong...that is clear from everything you write...it would be interesting to see what you would write if you felt differently...
