It does not matter

It does not matter

A Poem by Fiza Ameen
"

Poetry on ‘there’s always more than words can encompass.’

"
I lied, it mattered not
Words screeched, matter it caught
Slithering beneath the clouds
Stealing fears away in shrouds

Eyes, heavy with voiceless loads
Heart, heaving like approaching rains flowed
A knife, a hurt, a cut?
But none could wound me deep or gut

Each "not" begs to meet the eyes
Negation yelps, my layers it pries
When I say it does not matter
I slice myself, blood's splatter

Humans locked, brown from shades apart
Missing yelps, screeches of the heart
How can they see the agony, the strain?
"Every 'it does not matter', it causes pain"

For deep in truth, it truly matters
Every 'does not matter' stirs chests and flatters
Those who matter, see past the hollow
They take us not at words to swallow
