Sacred Drawer

Sacred Drawer

A Poem by James Paulin

to one ladys beauty my heart fell hard

this long distant reminisce yet still glows

now different deeds arouse passion flows

I found special places hold her regard

at marriage, her purse with dear credit cards

then baby things saved in boxes with bows

now, I struck a nerve right below my nose

one kitchen drawer with just a mess she guards

super glue, nails, batteries, safety pins

tools, bag ties, plastic tape, screws, abused bins

discussion to address, a strained discourse

avoided too long like habitual sin

agreement of sorts to sort once again

commotion subsided without divorce

Just smiling here! When did you visit my house? I'm a bit of a "hoarder" ....you should see my purse! Well, there's things us ladies just might need in an emergency, right? !!

Terrific write! Thanks for submitting this to Poeticpiers sonnet contest!

I think we all have a drawer like that; fiiled with precious junk! we periodically clean it out, but it always seems to stay full.... Love this!

I have extended this contest due to lack of entries to finish it off. Let's hope we get more submissions. I have it open for all writer's cafe poets now.

It was great reading this again Jimbo!
