When I read this I can truly see the colors, and "Gold Remnant" is a fitting title; moving down the screen, the words appear in the order of "gold," "yellow," "brown." It's a sequence that coincides with both a landscape and a transition in the seasons. Few poems can present vivid feel and scenic imagery as potent as this in as little space. "Brass yellow sunlight," "Forlorn gilded tufts," these are wonderfully chosen words , and I must commend the author for being the only poet I've ever known to use the word "skitter" and to do it with such a fluently consistent tone.
