An August day of temperature quite mild
Alone upon a lake, gently cradled in a boat
Soothed by breezes as a mother kisses a child
Soft white clouds above upon blue sky afloat
Fresh air breathes easily so clean and clear
Warm sun recalls long ago, a tender caress
Aside are laid all worries, regrets and fear
Thoughts turn to those of peace and happiness
Light whistling wind sings a sweet lullaby
Scent of water as of rain showers just gone away
Solitude unbroken until perchance a passerby
In darker moments, these pleasant memories replay
