A Poem by James Paulin

Puppets have the persona

articulated by disembodiment

actuated by intimate disassociation

achievement by indirect acclamation

Straight and true is the star

throwing limelight to dummies

energizing cartoons into reality

so close together yet so different

Act and voice transferred

illusive perception of connection

skillfully directing audience attention

difficulty doubled by absent deception

Individual complexities transfer

performance romances pure form

characterization enhances appreciation

art illuminates in objective synchronization

... wow ... that's a brilliant poem ... i don't think what i wrote even comes close ... this has so many layers ... it's such a fine analysis of existence in a sense ... "articulated by disembodiment" ... "achievement by indirect acclamation" ... so true and so precisely expressed ... "so close together yet so different" ... there is such lucidity in that profound expression ... "act and voice transferred" ... and "difficulty doubled by absent deception" ... are expressions of sheer poetic genius ... and brilliant alliteration too in the latter line ... "performance romances pure form" ... and ... "art illuminates in objective synchronization" ... are epic lines ... and have such universal application ... if i really think about it ... now that you say it with such brilliance ... we have to get out of ourselves to see ourselves ... especially as we are artists and there is a need for us to be able to review our work on our own ... and the purity of art has a balance between passion and detachment ... a remarkable verse this ... scintillating and absolutely unforgettable ... i'm so lucky i got to read it ... thank you so much for sharing this ...

explicit, concise, artful...a courageous enterprise...original, with purity, and a slight aftertaste of humor...
