Inner Ear

Inner Ear

A Poem by James Paulin
"

Contemplative

"

sweet supplication of the soul

close the door to other senses

first hear the message as a whole

for clarity drop all defenses

-

hear the voice held deep within

ignored so long it may be meek

uncover ways to block out din

try hard if it’s the truth you seek

-

respond freely with open heart

eyes refreshed, insight newfound

hear prelude twitter, a fresh start

how powerful is the quiet sound

the poem come full circle connecting the "whisper of the soul" with power the quiet sound has...i like it, your poem holds truths. if you want to reach deep and discover your soul, you must lose your other senses, those defenses holding you back.

every time i read something of yours i have to read it over again for clarity--it's because of your word structure. you word things differently than others sometimes and it makes it complicated to understand fully the first time. if you like it that way, cool. good write, here, anyway, though. i liked reading this one over.

I really like this. It is so true............what wisdom we could receive if only we listened properly, fully, completely to that quiet little voice. Wonderful!
