after

after

A Poem by Jason

after rains fall
and drench the earth
and landslides drag hearts astray

after lakes frost
and reflections freeze upon a stare
and branches move a skeleton sway

after the birth of a rose
and thawed rivers cleanse a memory
and breath vanishes from the banks

after thunder claps have softened
and lightning has no clouds to glow
and storms have no land to fall upon

after pain has no more souls to corrupt
and misery has no hearts to melt
and tears have no eyes to cry
is when I stand beside you

You have so much going on in this write and it ends with a shoulder of support for those afflicted. Very interesting for sure. Your friend in words, Pete
