Deceit of Melinda

Deceit of Melinda

A Poem by Jason
"

Inspired by the song "Face of Melinda"by the band 'Opeth'

"

Scared, as I stared
Into the face of Melinda;
The street and the lights
and her ongoing plight,
brought her to my door;
(as she is forever wanting more.)

In the dwells of the few,
Behind her blackened hair,
No longer is she fair,
No longer her skin bare;
And she hides her pain,
(In a black garb drenched from the rain.)

As it were a wicked tale!
Of deceit;
And of fail, and defeat;
mistrust and misnomer;
(The jury had sent to condone her.)

Once a lover
At the hands of another
As her heart be held
By unbeknownst;
(-her brother.)

The rhythym of this poem is incredible, especially the opening line. It grabs you and sucks you in. Well done.

Wow, powerful ending. I am familar with Opeth but not this particular song - still this is a haunting tale - very vivid in its descriptions. Thank you.
Light,
Siddartha
