Snow

Snow

A Poem by Jason
"

-inspired by the first real snowfall of the winter

"

White, floating, frozen and fluttering,
Drifting and landing on tree limbs and branches,
Unique, unparagoned - the flakes are abounding;
And free of harsh sounding, so soft and astounding;

Dark, debilitating, fitful of danger,
Lurks and lies within those with raged eyes,
Ignoring the warn and hold true to the swarm,
They strive in the cold and shunt oust the warmth;

Below in the fertile- broods life unbeknownst,
Unaware of the strife, up above- fleeting life,
Miss May’s time be nigh, through winters last sigh,
this world yet abides, but to the seasons they defy.

Thank you! Winter is beautiful...the blanket of white...you describe its beauty and in the same breath, as you exhale you whisper of what lies beneath...possible dangers and life waiting to appear after winter's last sigh.
Spring!

Thank you, Jason.

This is breathtaking! I have no snow here and sometimes I really miss it. You take me there through your painting of words. Thank you for portraying the pretty and the painful side of snow and winter. I enjoyed this so much.
