Of voices and words

Of voices and words

A Poem by Suparna Thombare

With every word clothed

And wrapped in woollens,

Coming from a hypnotic voice

Without a body or a face,

I guess, I wonder and long for

A wonderful child of trust

To be born to us.

With every question I strip,

Slowly undressing my mind.

Freeing from the clutches

Of distance, doubt

And a weak chain of thoughts

Transported from my past.

With every breath, I sense

The letting go of a dilapidated branch,

Readying to fall into the lap of destiny"

An unknown land of voices and words,

Where children of love run naked,

Baring their body, their soul

To an alien heart.

And then I ask, “Don't I already know you?”
