Shadows in the Night

Shadows in the Night

A Poem by Amanda Grae

Shadows sway against the dark night

Signs of life? Of company?

I wouldn't mind it

I've been waiting for ever to get away

The shadows surround me

Trapping me in this black abyss

Calling me to join them

Calling me into the endless night

Will I go willingly; become a shadow?

Will I be forced if I refuse?

I think not, I must go

They could have taken me already

A bloody, horrifying death

But they want me

So I must go, I must get away

I disappear into midnight fog
