Wilting away

Wilting away

A Poem by Jane Doe

Wilting away

Eyes closed,
Body strewn across the bed,
Covers every where but on,
As I whine, images of you float through my head.

Finally I awake,
But only to the same dreary nightmare,
Your still not here with me,
But should I care?

Years of waiting,
Months of wanting,
Weeks of loneliness,
Days of hunting.

Hours of needing,
Minutes have passed,
I count the seconds,
Oh, how slow I am compared to life, so fast.

I call myself a flower,
Just wilting away,
Slowly, so slowly,
Meant to disappear someday.
