October, 19th finally

 

I am in Baltimore! It is very lively, tons of people EVERYWHERE! I have never seen so many neighbors in my life and its crazy to think they all live here and all seem pretty peaceful. As far as the eye can see they are very productive, it is sort of the stories I have heard from the other orphans, who came from Philadephia. But they say "urban" I do not know what the word meant so I prefer not to use it. Their ports have everything too it looks like grain, meat, and things from Maryland.

 

They are all very nice though some give me dirty looks and ignore me. I must begin walking but I am very hungry I think it is time for me to "borrow" now. I will return in a breif moment.

 

There was this stand, full of delicious steamy corn. I had to have some but I had no money, so I begged and he gave in he also gave me an orange as a snack for later. I stole a carton of milk, and a loaf of bread from a picnic I saw that looked abandoned. Then the family returned and I felt terrible so I kept the milk but showed them the loaf of bread I "found." They were very grateful it seemed so they gave me half of the loaf and half husked corn. I threw it in my bad and surprised the mother with a hug.

Nice, a song inspired you to write this chapter...each journal entry builds up...and another reflection of teens not having money on their journey, of finding who they are...more of a warning for teens not to go down this road...unfortunately, many do.
