I sit by the window.

I sit by the window.

A Poem by Jane Doe

I sit by the window.

I sit by the window,
And watch the storm,
Whipping the trees around,
And practically screaming winds and rain.

I sit by the window,
As the rain pounds,
And blurs my vision,
Then it is all calm...again.

I sit by the window,
As the power is out,
My book is open on my lap,
And my family is in the room beside this.

I sit by the window,
As the wind howls,
My siblings laugh and play games,
I can't seem not to worry.

I sit by the window,
Like it will protect me,
When in reality nothing can,
It's all left up to the creator on who it takes and who it spares.

Author's Note

Jane Doe
I wrote this when the hurricane was predicted to hit 7-8 pm
Thanks to the SLOWNESS of Irene it hit around 11 or 12
Hehe I slept through it
But I was up before watching, tracking and being nervous too
And After watching the massive storm practically walk away from it's damage.
Before the storm 4-6 died,
I don't know how high the death toll is now but I still hope for the best for those family:(

Another excellent poem, nothing like that ever happens here in the UK, thank goodness, and yes my heart does go out to all the pain and suffering to the common people...
